With Toasters too!

But I agree, PLEASE John, sell them to us through the boutique, and save those endangered lap steels!

BUT my own wish is a DELUXE WOOD OPTION for all 4003's or even a 4004Cii FL. As for colors, Autumn Glo or Walnut available again!

1 Make truss rod covers available for people who are trying to restore parted out ebay guitars, if they can prove that is a real Ric.
2 sell c-64 bass tailpieces in the boutique for people trying to restore their rm1999s or:
3 reissue the sandcast/missing tooth tailpiece at a reasonable price!

Just my 2 cents.....

1. How best to prove they have a real Rick? Why, send in at least 1/2 of the old TRC. Deal done! Or, you can take your Rick to your local Official Rick Certification Station. I understand there's one now in every town in 85 countries with a population of 50,000 or over.

2. They'd sell at least 6 of these. Two to you, weemac--one to use and one for a spare.

3. "Reasonable price" is the hangup here...dang. There's always a catch!

But before that, it might be, "What's for dinner?"

With Rickenbacker trying to catch up on their existing backlog, I doubt they'll announce any new models at the upcoming NAMM. I'd imagine that they'll want those recently discontinued models to make it through the system before they start taking orders for new models. There's no COY for the 2008 too, so introducing a new model or two seems even more unlikely.

That said, I still think the most likely new 'reissue' models would be a 4001v68 or a 21-fret 300-series model six string to compliment the 360/12c63. Both because I imagine that they wouldn't need any major new tooling machines to make them, and so they wouldn't gum up the backlog TOO much.

Personally I'd love to see the return of 21-frets on all the 300-series models, but that seems unlikely too. The standard 24 fret models are very successful for them, though, so what's the reason for them to change it up? (Besides my own desire...)

As far as new models go, the 650D and S seem to have been deleted due to the hassle involved with the finishing process, but the C remains and is the only Rickenbacker sixer to have humbuckers. I think a new model might have humbuckers to compliment the 650C. But what would that look like? Maybe a revamped Laguna with a standard finish?

I am kind of expecting a 650D in a nice heavy gloss finish. Remains to be seen...

That's a good thought. They said they were discontinuing the D and S because the natural finish gummed up the works. What if they replace them with a maplegloesque clear finish? Same looks, but would it be easier on the paint line or does walnut not paint as well? Maybe we'll find out at NAMM 2009.

I was reading somewhere that it is a pain to remove dirt from the oiled models, although I don't really know, never had one.

I'd like to see a limited run, reissue, of the 4002.
And I'd like to see a Geddy Lee model 4001 Jetglo complete with the Grover tuners, straplocks, and BadassI bridge.

Also, maybe a 5 string fretless with a 35" scale. Custom curly maple finish.

You need to wash your hands before you play an instrument that's finished like that and keep after it before the dirt really settles in.
