Paul W.'s rick sound was amazing. Love that wall of Vox amps as well. Wish I'd been old enough to see them live while they were still around. But thankfully, we now have YouTube...

Foxton and Buckler are touring as 'From the Jam' with a guitarist/singer and a keyboard player. Have any of our UK friends seen them? I've heard they are pretty good. I'm probably going to go see them here in Toronto in Feb, but I'm afraid I'll feel like I'm seeing a cover band.
Nice all black 330.

MMMmmm I know what you mean Greg. From the Jam played Glasgow last Saturday and i didnt bother going cause it was my works Xmas night out and i was organizing it.I had checked them on YT but thought they were a bit as you put it cover band.It would be like going to see The Who with no Townsend/Daltray.Anyway I see you got the picture from http://www.scooter-forums.com/ are we a Vespa or Lambretta man.
P.S Last year i went to see Foxtons other band The Casbah Club check them out they are a mix of The jam and Big country they were well worth seeing Brilliant.I personally think if theres no Weller in the mix the cake aint going to rise!( I quite like that last bit god im good)

While I appreciate the energy and the Ricken-sound, I just can'T seem to get past Weller's voice... just sounds like mumbling to me, and that vid was probably the clearest I've ever heard him sing...

Just thinking about him "singing" slow down drives me to tears!.... ok, maybe not that far!

I can just imagine how great they would've sounded with that raw high energy instrumentation, but with a proper vocalist. (proper being, my definition of what would sound better, nothing more than an opinion of course)

Whilst The Jam being a huge success in Britain in the early 80s Weller was not know for his singing capabilities. He was known for what he was singing about thats what people liked and Thats entertainment!

Back in my Punk days of '78-'82, The Jam were IT for me. Loved 'em.

They're the main reason I picked up a Rickenbacker. I knew that Weller was into the Who and that PT played them in the early days, but it was The Jam that did it for me!
