Changing Strings On A 360/12
After one hour and fifteen minutes I finally finished changing the strings on the 360/12 FG. During that time I thought of ways to redesign the tailpiece, and personally invented five new swear words. I also found out a couple of mistakes I made during the previous stringing, which was the best thing to come out of the experience.
When I have to change strings on a RIC 12string I usually throw the guitar away and buy a new one... He He He He! The "R" Tailpiece has to be the worst invention along with that headstock that when you string up the ostrings that rest in the headstock your fingers get all nicked and bloody!! RIC should start packing a mini first aid kit along with a "Last Word" box that spits our vulgarities at the touch of a button!
"Take the RIC... Leave the cannoli."
While the "R" tailpiece has become a famous icon, I have found that the trapeze tailpiece has made restring much easier. It is also easier to replace broken strings. I like the older look of the trapeze. I cannot say, however, that I am less likely to stick myself, even with the trapeze.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
