I saw that on ebay. I've heard of them , but never heard their music. Are they worth checking out ?

Wow! He must be relying on his black 4001 with the added J Bass pickups...although on Feel Euphoria he thanks Aria Guitars; I hope he's not planning to leave the fold, his RIC sound is one of the best IMO.

Joey, Spock's Beard's first six CDs have a real Prog sound, imagine Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant with Cheap Trick overtones. The latest one, Feel Euphoria, is their first without Neal Morse and is a bit more mainstream.

The white 4001 I saw Dave play had a custom tortoise-shell pickguard and TRC. I'm not convinced this is Dave's bass.

Dave got back to me on the bass in question. He has 10 basses and this is one he is selling to thin the herd. He mostly plays the 4 JB pickup bass now. So it is legit. See his user name - dmeros, that's why I figured it was him.

I checked my Beard stash last night...A white RIC with black pickguard is shown in the booklet which came with The Light. He's also selling a Vox (similar to that shown in the same photograph) and a Gibson Grabber, which can be seen in the "Making of V" DVD.

Jeffrey, did you by chance invite him to join us?

Cool! Thanks for the info. I never even thought to look at pictures in the liner notes.

I saw the dmeros user name, but it's a new user. Glad it's really him!

The icon close to his eBay ID does not mean he is a new user (actually, he registered in 2000). It means he changed his eBay ID less than 30 days ago... Take care.

I didn't think of that but I did ask Matt Malley to join us since he now has the CS bass.

John, I asked him about the pickguard and trc; he responded in a very nice and detailed e-mail that the black pickguard and trc were installed because they are original to the bass. Good question (for which he gave me credit); I've invited Dave to join us, hopefully he will.

Thanks Lindsay. I hope he does. He's a great player with a great sound.

From the latest information I got, the seller is indeed Dave Meros.

BTW, the current highest bidder is a friend (he is a regular contributor here), and I never overbid a friend.

Cheers,
