Mitch: I think it entirely possible that a new COY may appear in 2009.

Sean: I am betting on the same fine quality instruments from RIC, this year and every year.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

The official word from RIC is no COY for 2008. 2009 is still open - Let's see how they do with reducing the orders backlog.

I would to see RIC make an Antique Mapleglo someday cuz It takes a long long time to get that look naturally.

RIC tried that, but decided it didn't work out all that well. There are a few instruments in AMG floating around.

PM Blues has a 330. Check the link below. Barely any difference from a regular MG.

That is a real nice shade of amber. I wish they'd offer the Montezuma Brown again. I missed that color.

I think that an expansion in number of available finishes in any given year would be preferable to a COTY for `09; four colors isn't much to choose from, especially given that two of the available finishes are the rather staid fireglo and mapleglo finishes. It would even be nice if some of the translucent finishes available only on the 4004s were available for the guitars as well. It would be especially nice to see Ruby, Burgandy, Blue boy, Sea green, and even white available as standard finishes, but I imagine that would just add to the backlog.

You imagine correctly, Paul. With four finishes (actually three, since MG is all conversion varnish and requires no color coat), the changing-out of colors in the spray booths is minimized, and record-keeping in production is much easier.

Ruby is a complex, three stage kandy-type finish, and white is the toughest color of all to get right. The tiniest speck of dust in either color coat makes it a QC nightmare.

I would love to see white as a standard colour. Also when did the red stop getting used on the 330s?
