Sex Pistols' Rics

Many great shots of Glen Matlock's 4001 in "The Filth and The Fury". In "The Great Rock and Roll Swindle" there's a scene where Sid is "playing" a 4001. This bass has two P-bass style pickups where the neck pickup should be.

The bass that Sid 'plays' looks to be a modded BurgandyGlo 4001 that must be 1978 or before (to fit in with the time the film was made). The pick-ups look to me to be those from a Jazz Precision and they have been set at an angle.I know Glen's Rick was a BurgandyGlo 4001 so maybe this is the one that was modded and lent to Sid for the movie shoot. It would be interesting to find out what happened to this bass.Maybe Glen still has it. 8)

I love the Pistols, but Sid never PLAYED the Ric.

He posed with it, but really, even for DIY punk, he was a pathetic musician.

Matlock, on the other hand...the band shoulda stuck with him.
