For anyone who doesn't know, they're a Beatles tribute band including Will Lee on bass (Letterman show) and Jimmy Vivino on guitar (Conan O'Brien), among other great players. http://www.thefabfaux.com/
They're doing two shows this weekend - tonight, they covered The White Album front to back, and tomorrow night will be Revolver + other songs. The sound wasn't great and the general admission crowd were...annoying, but MAN - they nailed everything.
What was really staggering was the amount of guitars they used as a whole. At some points, there were four guitar players, along with Will on bass. Almost every song had a change of guitars. Jimmy Vivino used everything from a Casino to Sonic Blue Strat to Les Pauls to SG's to acoustics and probably more that i'm forgetting!
Will used a late 4001v63 FG (short headstock, pickguard covered in small stickers) for most of the night, but when the song called for it, he switched to a late 60's/early 70's Fender Jazz (block inlays, sunburst, just like Paul's) and even an old Fender Bass VI on Rocky Raccoon.
They also had an excellent piano player, a very versatile four piece horn/woodwind section (trumpet, sax, clarinet, trombone & flutes, depending on the song), a violin player & a cellist, and a harp player for "Good Night".
They didn't do the whole wigs & accents thing, just played every song to-a-tee (pun intended, blech) and were a lot of fun. They even tossed green apples into the audience throughout the show! I highly reccomend anybody check them out if given the opportunity.
And yes, they did Revolution 9 too!

Sounds like a great time John';
What was up with the sound? Was it a bad mix or a poor PA system?

Hey JB,
Did you know that my '59 Rickenbacker Capri 335 MG (the one I had stored at Dave's up until RicProm) was formerly owned by Jimmy Vivino?
There are lots of photos available at http://www.jimmyvivino.com or at http://www.thefabfaux.com, although I'm still trying to find a photo of Jimmy with the Capri

Sounds like a good time, JB. I got to meet Will Lee a couple of years ago, seems like a cool guy.
You probably would have also enjoyed Beatlemania, that was back in the '80's.
