Do you know what I love about Jetglo Ric's?

Post by octagon »

They are always perfect! What I mean is,if you get, say,a fireglo or a burst and you show it to 20 Rick collectors 3 or 4 will find fault with the color(too Red,too pink, too yellow,to light to dark) or the way the finish was applied.Clear finish's like Mapleglo can expose the underlyng Maple grain to flamophilic scorn and solid colors can change by design or nature from light to dark, but Jetglo is consistently the same year to year.To me it is the one Rick color above reproach.

I have to say my 360 JG is pretty sweet and when I bought it I wasn't really looking for another RIC or A black one for that matter.
BUT..there it was up in the case in all its' gleeming glory and the vintage headstock...Oh baby.. it's like well  perfect!
I've been kind of partial to 330's but there is just something about that 360 in black. I bought it, I'm happy :D

Howdy,

I'm with you 100%. My second favorite standard color is MapleGlo, but your observations are right on. IMHO, JetGlo has mystique. Call it "Liverpool mojo", but it's there. The first time I whipped out my JG 325 "B" at a C&W gig for lead, someone commented: "That college boy means bidness with that git-ar!" 8)

UGH....

Jetglo = FINGERPRINTS! :shock: LOL!

I'm so OCD now, I play with a cloth diaper on my lap. Between sets, I wipe down the neck and strings....IF I had a Jetglo, I'd be wiping it down AS I'm playing it!

75th anniversary model, dark metallic cherry (I think that is what it's called).

Been happy with my JG 660/12TP.

There's three great things about it you can never find in a fireglo:

1. It's rarer than a FG
2. It's no. 53 in the production (FG didn't come out as this number)
3. It's got a great finish (despite the fact you can't see the birdseye wood)

Those faults are what I dig about the burst colors. I do like jetglo, but I like the colors that show the wood. Keep in mind i have found imperfections in jetglo as much as any other finish. But if Jetglo is good enough for Lennon than who am I to complain.

There IS something timelessly classic about Jetglo.
Simplicity.
Contrast.
Elegance.
Stealth.
