Gary Moore has his Les Paul, I believe.

Thanks Roy,royclough wrote:Peter Green made an appearance on a 96 album called TWANG A Tribute To The Shadows, who don't mean a lot in US but legends in UK.
Here's the track one of my all time favourite Shadows tracks.
For those who do listen and enjoy it you can compare with the original by visting second link

Re: Where Are They Now - Series
There is some good info at Wiki on Peter. Of course, no idea how accurate.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Green_(musician)A 1990s comeback saw Green form the Peter Green Splinter Group, with the assistance of fellow musicians including Nigel Watson and Cozy Powell[citation needed]. The Splinter Group released nine albums between 1997 and 2003. Peter is a prolific collector of guitars, having over 100 at this time. It was in the latter part of this period that Peter picked up a black Gibson Les Paul again.[3] Peter signed and sold this ebony Les Paul.
A tour was cancelled and recording of a new studio album stopped in early 2004, when Green left the band and moved to Sweden.[citation needed] Shortly thereafter he joined The British Blues All Stars, but their tour in 2005 was also cancelled. Green has said that the medication he takes to treat his psychological problems makes it hard for him to concentrate and saps his desire to pick up a guitar; whether there will be any more public ventures remains to be seen.

Re: Where Are They Now - Series
Thanks for confirming that fact Paul. I am a fan of Gary Moore's music and I only vaguely remembered that he had Peter's Les Paul in his collection.

No, this is no longer correct. Gary Moore did own the famed "Peter Green 'burst" but sold it in 2006 to Phil Winfield who owns Maverick Music in Charlotte, NC. Winfield also caused some friction with Gary Moore after the sale of the guitar because he violated a pre-sale agreement that they had made that they'd keep the sale under wraps. Phil Winfield immediately let the cat out of the bag as soon as the guitar was in his possession and brought it along to numerous guitar shows for the masses to ogle. Not certain if they ironed out their differences or not, but Gary Moore let his displeasure be known in a few interviews shortly after the sale.paologregorio wrote:winston wrote:Gary Moore has his Les Paul, I believe.

Peter Green is without a doubt one of the finest Blues guitarists that ever came out of the British scene or any Blues scene for that matter, IMHO. I had the pleasure to sit down with Mick Fleetwood one night in 1994 when my then group was invited to an audition to play Mick's new Blues room in Alexandria, VA - Fleetwood's. Mick gave me a very nice compliment about my playing afterward and I replied, "Thanks! That means a lot to me, coming from you. You played with one of the all-time greats!"
We sat down and talked about Peter for 45 minutes....as well as Mick's role in Running Man. Mick was amazed at the interest that nearly every guitarist that came to those auditions had about Peter and his whereabouts as well as the respect we all had for him....and he hadn't played since he'd left The Mac. Mick told me then that Peter was just beginning to start playing out in public again with a new group called The Splinter Group in England. Mick really had loads of love and respect for Peter and held a lot of fond memories of their time together in the early days of Fleetwood Mac.
Sadly, Mick closed the doors on Fleetwood's about 2 years later due to poor business advice he'd recived from his partners. He still kept a home in Alexandria for a short while afterward, but I believe that he's since left the area. Great guy and very personable with a superb sense of humor!

Yes I was up late. Amongst other things, I was thinking about tasks associated with that dreaded "W" word.

Re: Where Are They Now - Series
Gary sold it to Maverick Music, vintage guitar dealers in North Carolina. Apparantly they were not to sell it but then could not turn down $2,000,000. that they took for it. They placed it all over in ads so the potential was for someone to bite on it for a price. Apparantly Gary is not happy.....at all.winston wrote:Gary Moore has his Les Paul, I believe.
