Naturally ... a 12 string

Post by ric330 »

Found this gem today on the net. I wish I could afford it even though it is priced not to move too fast (just under $5000);
Beautiful... :? Maybe I should sell my Mustang :?
Really a nice guitar, eh?

Ciao for now.....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

Howdy,

Maple ages so gracefully. Those birdseyes are really something on that 330! I think my '04 MG 360/6 has only two birdseyes.

Aged Maple glows are really nice. I wonder why there hasn't been a figured wood Amberglo as a COY.

Love that pic Goofyfoot :lol:

Dig around, Kevin, and you'll find that Rickenbacker did experiment with an "amber mapleglo". There was some initial thought that it would be released in conjunction with "amber fireglo", but the results were underwhelming, so it didn't proceed. There is an "amber mapleglo" 330/12 at PM Blues. I'm sure they want an arm and a leg for it. They have photos posted, and the amber varnish doesn't really get the vibe of an aged mapleglo. It's still a little too light. I think Rickenbacker made the right call by not going ahead with it.

Works for me! Neener, neener, neener.....then again, I had to search the web like a madman for about six months to find one with nice figuring as most seem to be quite plain, change the hardware from black to chrome as I'm personally not fond of black on maple, make new guards, swap TRC's, switch the neck and bridge high-gains for toasters, convert a high-gain to a toaster cover and install it for a middle pickup and stereo-wire the whole thing. One of these days it will go out to Dale for CB and crushed inlays, then get maximum nut spacing and probably a twelve-saddle bridge - and then it will be just what I was looking for. Nobody ever said getting what you want would be easy.
