McGuinn Wrist Health Update
Roger wrote me with bad news:
I just found out today (Dec. 7) that I'll require surgery to reconstruct my broken wrist. They say it will be eight weeks before I'll be able to perform again.

Re: McGuinn Wrist Health Update
How'd he break it? A fall..?
Re: McGuinn Wrist Health Update
Sad to hear. I had considered seeing him again in Ft. Worth next week. Obviously that's out.
Re: McGuinn Wrist Health Update
He slipped on some ice in Nebraska while on tour.
Re: McGuinn Wrist Health Update
Hopefully a full and speedy recovery as wrist breaks can be bad news (trust me - old Rollerblade dealer). In the mean time....does this mean that for a couple of weeks I can claim that I can play a Rickenbacker twelve better than McGuinn??????

Re: McGuinn Wrist Health Update
Just got the call. Show rescheduled to April.
Re: McGuinn Wrist Health Update
Here's the latest:
Roger McGuinn uncancels Feb show
Hey, remember that time I told you that Roger McGuinn canceled his Feb. 1 show at the Mondavi? (Davis, CA)
Well, guess what? He really didn't.
Confused? Well, join the club. No, actually - McGuinn's booking agent canceled the show, you see, but McGuinn's manager didn't. So, what I'm trying to say here is that Roger McGuinn - broken wrist, be damned - will still be playing Feb. 1 at Mondavi's Jackson Hall.

He's Back - or is he?

Re: McGuinn Wrist Health Update
I don't think that I could play with a broken wrist ... but then again, I pretty much broke my hand playing basketball about 8 years ago and I was back on the court two weeks later ... shooting mostly left-handed!
Here's hoping for a speedy, full recovery, Roger!

Re: McGuinn Wrist Health Update
Well, he told me two weeks so Feb. 1 would just fit within that schedule.
Roger also mentioned to me that he broke his wrist before several years ago so he should know when it feels right to come back and play.
I could ask him but don't like to bug him too often.
