I used to be in a band called Manicpopthrill we had rehearsed for ages and got our first gig.Everything was going so well untill our cover version of The jam Down in the TStation.All was well until i jumped up and the lead popped out of my FG 330 ( i had at the time ) and the guitar went dead.After that we fizzled out into non existence.Oh the memories

I do not feel bad, not at all. Quite the contrary: i don't really want any nice music playing people (their ears, their musical taste, their hearts, etc) suffer regularly from my "singing" and "playing".
Seriously, though, that just doesn't work. Two bands split quite soon after i joined them. Must be the "ape at the steering wheel" "woman in the band" rule.

A few decades ago when I was Jake's age, I was the keyboard player and vocalist in a garage band named Geneva Convention. After high school, I moved to NOLA and was working offshore for the summer while the other three members moved to Macon, GA and wound up opening (or least that is what I was told) for Three Dog Night, Rare Earth, and the Allman Brothers.

After the bassist finished a tour in SE Asia, he came back home and started another band. He hooked with a female vocalist that looked like Mama Cass with a voice like Gracie Slick's. I sat in on their one and only gig (a lunch time concert at the college), where Alice proclaimed that everyone knew us, but didn't know us. She went on to say the the band's name was "BFD aka Big F#$@%&* Deal!"

Scott: Thanks. I'm better at telling stories than playing my many guitars. I've been a Jam fan since I picked up a copy of 'In The City' in 1977. It's hard to believe that was 30 years ago. About 15 years ago I tried to put together a band to play 60's mod stuff like The Who, The Small Faces and Creation mixed with folk-rock like The Beatles and The Byrds. I was singing and playing guitar with a bass player and a drummer. I stood at the mic bashing out the songs and the other two guys tried to follow me (where I will go...). We practiced a few times and I thought it was great fun. The bassist wanted to call us 'The Klondike Five' since we were a 3-piece. I wanted something more edgy like 'The Screaming Jizz Buckets'. Unfortunately, there was already a local band called 'The ****** Beatles' because that fit the best. After a month or so, the bassist had a nervous breakdown and the drummer left to play 'southern boogie rock'. I guess it just wasn't meant to be...

I seriously would think it'd be fun to have a girl in the band. Look at Fleetwood Mac. Sure some people think Stevie Nicks can't sing (South Park sure says she can't), but look how well they've done. Doesn't that say anything?

Well, it's official...I MAY be getting a band together. No girls, all guys.

Chris the lead guitarist's best friend (next to me) Ben has played keyboards in every band he's ever had. Chris and Ben were in a band with a guy named Jon who plays drums. My friend at school, Jacob, knows a guy named Dylan who plays bass perfectly. I talked to Dylan, and he's in for next Saturday for a jam session. Chris has to talk it over with Jon and Ben, and if they can agree to come to the jam session, I will have my first band!

The members:
Jake : lead vocals, rhythm guitar
Chris: lead guitar
Ben: keyboards, vocals
Jon: drums, vocals
Dylan: bass
