Re: My new 330 has hatched!
So sorry about Buddha. I have four currently and Matilda (who passed away 4 years ago this Christmas) resides in an urn on top of the armoir in my living room. The youngest also plays fetch and tries to help me play my guitars, but she thinks she is Jimi and uses her teeth.

Re: My new 330 has hatched!
So sorry to hear about your cat, Mitch.
About four years ago our cat died at the ripe old age of eighteen--It felt very strange not having her around, and for weeks I kept expecting to see her sitting in her favorite perch at the window sill.... We've gotten another cat since then, but really our Ariy was irreplaceable, and she will always hold a special place in our hearts and memories....
Re: My new 330 has hatched!
It's interesting how attached we become to our pets. We had a beloved cat who died one week end when I was away. I got the news over the phone. I got back home, and the place seemed so empty. I never expected to feel that way about a cat. And it surprised me.

Hi Mitch
Congrats on the 330, but I am sorry to hear about your cat. We really do become attached to them far more than we ever imagine.
I said a few years ago after our 16 yo Border Collie had to be put down that I didn't really want another pet. Then a few months later our daughter comes home with Caleb, the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. He's now three and a real character. As I type its 41C outside so I have brought him inside and he has just parked himself under an A/C vent rolled onto his back and gone to sleep. Ya really gotta see it for yourself, if you know what I mean !!!
Maybe there is a cat at your local animal shelter that needs a good home

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

HI Mitch Sorry to hear about your cat
glad to see you back
Re: My new 330 has hatched!
Thanks so much for all the posts guys.My girlfriend couldn't stand the pain of our loss and decided she would feel better if she had someone new to fill a little of the emptyness left by Buddha's passing so she looked at Humane Society's website and found this photo of a cat named Ballou

He was listed as a one year old male turned in as a stray. It seemed weird because he was neuterd and had his front claws removed so he must have been someones pet.I wounder why they didn't contact the Humane Society if he was lost?
We went to the Humane Society to see him but when We got their we look at all the cages and couldn't find him.Maybe he already got adopted,Ithought.I told my girlfriend to ask at the desk. She came back and said he was in a little room around the corner with a notice on the door that said "Visit here last".
This is the room where they keep the cats that had a upper respiratory infection and were still infectious. We went inside and found Ballou with 2 females cats and one big male cat.It was like cellbock 9.This big male would pick on the the other cats especially Ballou if they recieved any attention that he felt should only be given to him.
The big cat jumped in my lap as if to claim me as his own and wouldn't let anyone come near.Ballou on the other had seem really mellow and even when the other cat whacked him he wouldn't fight back.I could tell right away that he had a sweet personality.I felt we had to rescue him because we could se evidence of bites and scratches from his cellmate. And so it was decided we would take Ballou home.
So far he seems to like it here,he is still getting over his illness but I think he will be fine.My other cat Wolf seems to like him but she is still a little leary because of his resemblence to Buddha(with whom she had a love/hate relationship).
Of course I can never forget Buddha but it sure is nice to have someone new to fall in love with.
Here is a photo Ballou ajusting to his new abode.I haven't played my 330 for him yet.Hope he likes it!

Uh oh.
Keep close tabs on that girlfriend or before you know it, you will have four cats to wake you up at all hours.
Ask me how I know.
PS: the first pic of Ballou looks like "Holy ****!" and the next one looks like "Part 1 of my nefarious plan complete! Hehehe!"

How could he possibly not like the sound of a 330?octagon wrote:....I haven't played my 330 for him yet.Hope he likes it!
I'm glad that the sad part of this story wasn't the end of it, and hope that Ballou settles in easily.
Re: My new 330 has hatched!
Glad to hear the story ended in a good way. Cheers to the new set of ears.
My cat before he passed away would sit on top of my amp when I practiced or played with the band at home.
Greatly missed.
So how's the new Rick treating you? I ended up with a 360 JG - the 330 AFG just didn't work out.

...went in to buy a 52' Tele and walked out with a 360 Jetglo...
Re: My new 330 has hatched!
Glad to see you've got a new little cat in Ballou
I'm sure he'll settle in ok.
My cat was never to keen on the noise i made when playing,
but she loved to scratch on the amp's cloth!
Everytime i changed the strings on the guitars ,she would be there ,no matter where she was around the house.!
She just loved playing with all those dangling strings hanging off the top of the guitar!

Re: My new 330 has hatched!
Thanks so much everyone, for your kind words and for sharing your own stories with me. Ballou is recovering well from his illness,or at least he is not blowing snot all over everyone here.He has really bonded with my little family(me,my girlfriend and Wolf)He sleeps between us on the bed and follows me whereever I go.even when I try to get a little privacy in the bathroom he sits outside and cries till I let him in.I hope it's just a phase.
The true test will be tonite when My 16 yr old son Max comes over for the weekend. Max and Budda never really got along, there was a lot of jealousy between them.I think he will like Ballou because Ballou has is very mellow and seems to get along very well with everyone.

I played my 330 for him but he was not impressed.Maybe it is because I am having a little trouble getting the best tone with my Peavy Mini Colossal. This amp sounds great with my other guitars but I have trouble get just the right sound(at low volumes) with my Rick. It seems like the Treble pickup is louder than the Bass pickup and I'm not sure how to use tge blend control to get the best sound when I play them together.
Maybe I should get another amp for my 330?Any suggestions? I'm thinking of something with that Voxy chime and crunch.I need something apartment and sleeping girlfriend friendly(she works nights and when I used to have a Silverfaced Fender Princeton Reverb it was too loud).Do you thing an AC 15 would also be too loud or could I use the Master volume to get a decent sound at low volume? How about a Vox Pathfinder 15?Would that be a better choice?Somthing that I would be able to get good Beatle/Jam/REM/Smiths kinda sounds.Any suggestions for me?

What? Are you kidding me? A 330/6 JG can never sound "catrocious"! I'm happy for you. PeAcE, oUt.....Goofyfoot.octagon wrote:I haven't played my 330 for him yet. Hope he likes it!
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.
