It drives me crazy to see a bass strung like that ! :roll:

At least they wrap around the patents the right way. The string ends give it kind of a Spiderman look. Cool.

Why would $1,100 not be correct then? I paid $1,000 for a new one in 1987. Did I get hosed as a young punk who didn't know better on the price?

That was a lot back then. I don't know what retail was at the time but that seems high. Up until recently new ones could be had for about $1K.

When I was a poor federal employee about 20 years ago, I could remember 4003's selling for about $695-$725. The thing is, I'm 20 years older, the prices have gone up, and I'm still poor! :lol:

Now it may just be my old eyes here or the picture quality but I'm not seeing any black binding on this one could anyone comment on that.....?
