I have a Status Graphite, and it hasn't got a truss rod at all. They set the curve in the mould for the neck and thats it. It wont twist or bend. Later series have trussrods because the customers wanted it. I think my status is 10 years old but plays as a brand new instrument. Of course does it sound different than wood instruments, and is mainly good fun for slapping and stuff like that, altough I used it in a doom metal band to.

In another bass I have a carbon reinforced trusrodsystem wich fills the tunnel in the neck completly, leaving no air in there, and this systems avoids deadspots. This neck was made in a customshop here in the Netherlands by Vox Humana Guitars in Vlaardingen.

I have a 1996 4001v63. I just got it in December from another forum member. Mine has no dead spots. I feel quite fortunate after reading this post. I've also learned a lot ... thanks.

My '94 has one slight one on the D string but it has never been a problem. The other 83 notes are good. It does not have the most popular color but I really like it anyway.

Everyone wants Mapleglo or Fireglo it seems. Jetglo was the ugly duckling. Mine came from the stable of Marc Seligman who sold it to me after not getting any serious bids on Ebay. He was not asking for big money either. Now, what he was asking is peanuts. We had 3 JG V63s on hand for the Milwaukee Confluence back in 2006. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of them together.

Ted,

I love the 4001v63 in JG! I have the MG myself, but if it was a choice between JG and FG, I'd take the JG. Beautiful bass you have.

Very nice Jetglo V63 Ted! I love the V63 in non-standard colours, and wish I could have bought the Mid Blue one that Brian Crisman had for sale last year. Here are a couple of my "oddball" V63's:

Steve, Ive heard that having more than one "oddball" color V63 in a Rick collection throws the whole collection off kilter. I'm willing to help you with that, just send one to me!!

Here are the three Jetglo V63s that showed up at the Milwaukee Confluence (almost) two years ago:

Well I'm a bit of an oddball, so we're able to keep each other company. :)
Hey Ted - I see you still need an avatar. Here's a pic of you from RIC's 75th:
