I thought I saw a CS4001s back in 1992 going for $1400 . I was a Fender snob and that RIC looked like a toy/skinny neck . Was that the price back then ?

the $1400 figure is very close, ...the neck was spec'd to Squire's '64 RM 1999 as I seem to recall.
