I think Mr Thomas estimates are a little low . After seeing the current list prices for a regular old 4003 I think the V63 should go up considerably .

This is a great topic. The prices people have quoted are reasonable, but I suspect with the price increase, this will drive all model prices up. As well, the prices that people seem to discuss on this thread are with respect to right-handed Ricks. When it comes to left-handed Rick basses, trust me ... the price is very high. A lefty 4001v63 just sold on ebay for over $3000.00

Could be. Actually, I hope so as I've got a couple!

So...I'll sell you my mint 4001V63JG for $3500?!

A '90 V63? Congrats! I'll bet its got a sweet neck.

I paid 1800.00 for my '92 4001V63FG on ebay less than a year ago. Not a BIN either. And its near mint. Just a couple tiny chips keep it from looking brand new.

John,

Congrats on getting the V! Like Jeff said, it should have a very nice neck.
Oh and I'll sell my MG for $3,500.00 if anyone's interested!

Thanks Jeff! The neck is indeed sweet and I love the super-long headstock.

$1800 was a great price then and a really great price now!

I never thought I would own a V63 . I had just sold a motorcycle for $2700 and saw the V with a BIN of $2500 . That FGV63 was a dream bass to me so.....I hit the BIN ! Somedays it is my favorite bass....somedays I play my 64 P . Both are getting stupid expensive...until.....you look at a 59 Les Paul or 55 Telecaster ! I dont think I would take less than $3000 for my V now .

Mine was described as a 4003 last summer at an online Guitar Center and was $1299.

You do have to smile when you see one like that, especially from them guys...

I purchased mine in 1998 (I think) for $800.00 from Zapf's Music. It was the 2nd Rick that I owned. I played it out for 2 years straight. Somehow it remained in mint condition.

I noticed how mint it was, Dave - figured it hadn't seen much playtime from you (but I was wrong!).

$800 beats the deal I got, but it was still actually better than Wints'! 8)
