I believe that's a different 70's 4001 that Mark customized. The wiring is pretty unique as I remember.

Yeah, my bass is a 1979 4001. (note my smaller inlays) Over the years, I've transformed it into a V63. In addition to the reissue horseshoe pickup & toaster and the custom wiring, my bass also has a chrome TRC. One of these days I may have to enlist Dale F's talents to give it the retro vintage MOP inlays. I think it's cool that the Wombles bass has a RM 1999-sized chrome PG.

Not at all, Nate. Copying, along with paraphrasing and impersonating, is a sincere form of flattery. (Is that how the saying goes? I can't remember.) Enyhu ~ I'm sure your version will have it's own spin, and if it's a dead clone, then all the more power to my vision of World Chrome Domination.

Won't be a dead clone, I lack the horseshoe and toaster. hehe. I would like to know how you got the TRC like that though.

As i've mentioned before, Mark's '79 "Harley" bass is the most fun-to-play bass ever!

Wow! Very cool pics of Phil Lynott. I never knew he played a Rick. I'd only seen/heard the P-bass.
