Rics in your dreams

Post by JakeK »

Anyone ever had a dream that featured your Ric? Whatabout a Ric you don't own?

I've had several of those.

One I remember having was when I was about 12. I don't remember it all the way, but I dreamt I was playing John Lennon's '64 325. Weither it was the 6 or 12-string model, I don't remember.

More recently, I had a dream I was in Ric's official factory, and I saw a prototypes from the Vintage Series: a '90 620/12V64FG, a copy of Mike Campbell's '63 620/12. Apparently, it was supposed to be released in conjunction with the 660/12TP.

I also saw a '03 360/12V66 and a '03 370/12V67 that weren't exported to Japan. Other models I saw were a beautiful '91 4001V63FG, a '99 325/12V63JG, a '92 1997FG (2 pickups and vibrato), the short-lived 1993/12 reissue and a '92 360/12V64, as well as the 325V63 and V59, and all the standard and limited edition Rics of the past and present. It was like a heaven, and before I could even reach out and grab a model (I don't remember which), I woke up.

Howdy,

I'm pretty much with Paul on this one. On the other hand, it would be nice if a young Halle Berry showed up in one of my dreams bearing a FG 360/6 WB!
I can just see it now, dressed in a lovely evening dress and holding out that killer Rickenbacker, she'd lick her lips and say tantalizingly: "Well, big fella, what'll it be... me or this guitar?"
I'd take the guitar and run! LOL

Oh yeah, i've had a dream of Mel Gibson playing a Ric and singing... tell you what, it was more of a nightmare.
Seriously, though — i don't have dreams featuring guitars as such, or if there are guitars, they are of no particular models.
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.

I've had one Rick dream I remember. I'm getting ready to go onstage and the neck on my 4003MG goes to rubber.... Amazing, 'cause later in life I always win in my dreams. Not like life.....

I had a dream that my band was about to go on world tour (#1 sign I'm dreaming) and the big upper horn had broken off the bass. My best friend was there looking at it and told me "No, that's really bad. You'll have to send it back to the factory" and I was all in shambles because I had to go on tour.
But that's the only one. I DAYdream about plenty of Ricks. That's probably more than enough.

Then the Rick is really a means to an end, isn't it?

But then again, isn't it always?

You're insane! If Natalie Portman (no Halle for me thank you) came up to me with a custom 4004 to my specs and asked that question.. I'd go with Portman. I could always get the 4004 made like that again later, but the girl is a one time thing. Sure, they're both short and beautiful but I'd never have that chance with my #2 actress ever again. So you're nuts. :D
Random pics for comparison.
