Re: Where's the walnut wings?
I didn't get walnut wings on my '06 Monty 4003FL, but I prefer Monty Brown without the walnut wings because then it's not brown on brown.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

Re: Where's the walnut wings?
I find the no wings look to look fine................until I see a with wings version. My BBR has no wings either. One day I will have a Ric Bass with wings.
Steve - still in process. Maybe I can have Dale add wings to it!?

You guys are hilarious!
I wonder if in 1973, people asked "where is the checkered binding?"
If they don't have little "transition" periods like this, we'll have nothing to discuss ad nauseum in twenty years!

Re: Where's the walnut wings?
It's possible that those wings are indeed walnut. Walnut isn't always the dark brown you're thinking it is.

True. I've always considered the "not brown" sap wood as scrap. I'm not saying RIC is using scrap wood though.blueflamerick wrote:It's possible that those wings are indeed walnut. Walnut isn't always the dark brown you're thinking it is.

Nice photo for the "heavenly headstocks" file
If I had waited a year plus for a 4003AFG and it
came sans wings I'd be pretty bummed. After my
318/12BBR fiasco, I'll never
order any Rick from the factory again.
