Yeah, that's it. May I buy a K, or does it have to be a vowel?

This bridge here would be an excellent choice for a 4004cii 4-2-5 bass ...

You made the right choice Bruce. That thing is ugly with it's adjusting rails the will stick out with the 4004's narrow spacing.

I agree with Dane. Some bonehead put one of those Kahler bridges on a factory 4004Cii/5. It looked ugly on that bass also, even with the wider neck. I think that bridge looked ugly on any bass that I've seen it on.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

If I do A 4-2-5 on one of my 4004's, I'm going to use a stock 4003/5 tailpiece/bridge setup. With uncut saddles, there's actually quite a bit of spread available from the stock setup. It will also be more in keeping with the "4004V63" look that I gave to my 4004C TR. I think I may need some parts from you Jeff.

Actually I kind of like the look of the Kahler bridge ... and they sustain forever ... better than a schaller, hip shot, bad ***, or Rickenbacker bridge ...

as per the guy who put it in his 4004cii5 I applaud his decision ... that was one of very few ways he could make his expensive 5 string Ric actually be a playable bass ... 8)

but its looks may not be for everybody ...

I have talked my machinist to finally finish the order that I placed a while ago ... this round of bridges and saddles will be closer to the 4003s5 parts and they will of course be uncut ...

If anybody want to order saddles directly from my machinist then email me and I will send you his address ... now would be a good time since he is making parts for me and has some time to do the work ...

Also Dane I will have a set of 4 chrome 4003 almost new tuners fer sale soon if you want them ...

I will be doing a 4003 4-2-5 ... jetglo with black parts and white binding ...

Jeff, I already have an extra vintage RIC tuner to go with the four on the 4004 TR. In fact, I think I got all of them from you some time ago. I will need another one of your 5 string bridges and factory RIC tailpiece if you have one. I think I'l have to use modified RIC bridge saddles though as the already narrowed ones you have may restrict the possible spacing I'd need to achieve on a 4004. While spacing on a 3000-4003/5 is too small, the measurements I've taken on a 4004, because of it's wider taper, may just work out. I like the skinny spacing for the left hand, but not for the right. Unfortunately, the next RIC 5-string may retain the 4004Cii5 nut width and therefore, be too wide for my liking. A 4004 4-2-5 may be my best choice as even other manufacturers basses that have the best spacing just don't "grow on me" like a Ricky 4000 series.

I will be doing another 4003 4-2-5 soon and I have some extra part ... I will have to check to see which kind and how many ...

The 4004 makes a real nice 4-2-5 ... the nut size is exactly the same as a Carvin and you put in the bridge of your choice ... if only Ric had some pickups that were 2 1/2" to 2 3/4" wide ...

My 4004ci 4-2-5 is a dream to play and it has looks and tone as well. 8)

Jeff, how do you know they don't already?

They are not available to the public at this point ... the ones available have a 2 1/4" spacing which is perfect for 6 string guitars and 4 string basses ...

If they have something in the works with a wider pickup I will be all over that and I will be wanting to upgrade some of my 4-2-5 basses ... But the wheels at Ric can move slowly when it comes to new stuff getting released.
