sweet! The back of the neck is black as well. They do Jazz and "normal" pup spaced P basses as well.

Finish this with all black hardware and you're ready.

And the thing with Fender japan is the chance of scoring a dud instrument is very low...
I feel that the Jap fenders are the best you can get.

Following some conversations in some other parts of the web, it appears they're clamping down again on Int'l shipments. I just got my Mustang in Oct, but at least two guys have been told, sorry, can't do it by Ishibashi.

I'd think they can still sell used though. Hopefully FMIC will lighten up again. I was wanting to go Telecaster or Jaguar shopping later this year.

This from the other forum I was reading; looks like the party may be over, at least for a while.
I just got a reply back from Ishibashi and it seems Fender confronted Fender Japan at NAMM and now FJ is cracking down on export of MIJ/CIJ instruments.
Ishibashi said they can no longer ship new CJI/MIJ out of Japan, but they can still ship *used* items from their UBox:

Noriko sent me the same message last night. They do have lots of used MIJ Fenders in the used section.

They get a lot of nice stuff in the used box, but I really am disappointed you can't order new anymore. Here are my two CIJ babies....the 'Stang I bought new, just this past Oct; I put a set of Antiquity II Mustang p/ups in. The '57RI Strat I got used several years ago. I changed the pickguard and put a set of Fender Vin Noiseless p/ups in. I used to have a CIJ JM and a couple Jags, but I let them go.

The back of the neck is black too?! Sweet. I want that jazz. I'd want to upgrade it though, that bridge looks too wimpy.

I've wanted an all black J for a while. I'd like a graphite neck though. Those are sweet.

Now that I look at it.. that J seems a little naked without the pickguard and control plate.
