Sold my Casino for another Rick

Post by ric330 »

Well, why hold on to a guitar that is just not getting played...
The new 360 JG has just been absolutely great so now that I sold my Casino I've had to decide between a 360 MG or 360 AFG.
It was a hard choice but since the AFG is a color of the year (2006) I figure that was the one because I can always get a MG later.
I checked around and the Backorder lists for many dealers have sold all their 360 AFG's BUT Mike Parks set me up
-It may be a while but my name is on one now - :D

Well, congrats!! I'm a Casino fan, but you have to go with your own heart. An AFG 360 sounds like it will be a gorgeous instrument in every sense!

You know, you either like the ambered binding or you don't. I kinda like it. With the deeper red and ambered center I think it works well:

I will definitely change to Toasters or Toaster Covers on HiGains.

I might even go so far as to make it a 370 with Toasters like this:

After playing my 360 JG last night I think I'll keep the new 360 AFG a 360.
I put a fake pickup in the center between the neck and bridge pickup and I kept on tapping it.
I guess playing a Rick with 3 PU's takes a bit of getting use to.

I think the AFG looks like a smokey bar guitar in mint condition. I've seen some older Ricks where the binding and finish color on a FG has aged to a nice Amber,
maybe not as much as the AFG, but I like it nevertheless.

Another sublime score! Congratulations and keep the hits comin', brah. Best regards.....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.
