Wow, now that's an introduction, Micheal.
WELCOME! You have impecable taste in Guitars :D

It was great reading your post because many of us who are older now, have similar type stories and always get a kick out hearing how others have come to reclaim some of their younger days. I have found that the best tone for me is with my Blackface Deluxe Reverb Clone ( It was a Reissue that I gutted and made Point to point) but it has a Celestion Blue in it. The guitars we let slip out of our hands...That 60's 370 must haunt you sometimes. There are some incredible new Ricks out there to be had and I've seen some really fine Vintage ones that don't break the bank too bad.

I hope you find an ol' Rick like a 60's FireGlo 370 or a 60's 365 or 375 in FireGlo that will spark some inspiration from the ol' days.
Glad to have you here.

By the way, those Rocks you have now ...
I wish I could generate a list of ownership like that.

Welcome, Michael!
May i be the one who'll tell you the truth. This place is horrib... ly addictive. These horrible guys will tempt you into buying more and more Rics, unless you have the immunity (and, i'm afraid, nobody — or only a few — have the immunity from RAS. Worst of all, it's incurable, and even surgery won't help. You think you already have enough Rics? That's wrong. There can never be enough Rics. So they say.). They would trouble you every day until you post all the photos of all your Rics — front photos, back photos, side photos, headstock photos, jackplate photos, every screw photos, every knob photos, etc, etc. Oh, and soon you'll be calling your guitars "she". That's a must.
Okay, don't listen to me. I'm just a bad girl with a bad mouth and only one Ric. I'm sure you'll find this forum a nice place, lots of nice people to talk to, and in some time, it'll become as cosy as home (well, a web home, anyway). Welcome!
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.

Thank you all again for the great greetings - I feel like I just joined AA and I'm getting much needed understanding and support!
All of your comments are special but I wanted to respond to a few:

Dr. Katherine Nell McNeil - Is that a Tom Petty you are holding in your avatar? Sports Cars? - Do Tell!
Howard Bishop - You are my new hero.
Melissa Breitsprecher - You are here in Minnesota! So near and yet so far.
Kevin Jones - Is a Celestion Blue the same as a "Blue Bulldog"?
Sheena Colvin - Yes...yes...I see...must get more Rics...now.
Steve Garner - I traded that Teisco in for my 370 BUT I found another one a year ago online and bought it for $125! It is nearly mint and it was an unbelievable find. It's nicer than my old one because the previous owner set it up and it actually is playable. The Teisco through any grungy little tube amp sounds just like the guitar in Love Is All Around by The Troggs. I'll take pictures.

That's the one Michael,
They are very efficient and really add some chime and breath to an amp. I really like the voice it gives my Deluxe especially with my Rick.
Check out this new 370 VP (vintage Pickups) with vintage style headstock for a pretty sweet price:

I probably would have jumped on it if I hadn't just put a deposit on a 360 Amber Fireglo....

Michael, Howard has that affect on folks. He's certainly a 'hero' around these parts.

Michael,

Absolutely great story and welcome aboard. As so many others have mentioned, you'll find this place almost as addictive as the guitars which fuel it. I'm curious, where in Minneapolis are you now? I grew up in White Bear Lake, and graduated from HS there. The only thing that's more fun than playing and posting is to attend one of the confluences or "RIC Fests" that take place throughout the year. Putting faces with the names on the forum has been a real treat for me. I've had the distinct pleasure of meeting and befriending a good number of folks here, and count them among my true friends. Glad you're here!!!

Michael, as a followup to what John said, you may be interested in coming to Cleveland in June for the RIO get-together.
