You are correct....except on a RIHS surround of course which is reversed.

My Dec 73 came through with a scooped surround.

Good eye, Sergio! It looked correct to me until you pointed that out.

This is good stuff. It would be really great if we could put together some sort of guide to IDing various parts. So far in this thread I've learned one way to spot authentic surrounds, and a little bit about how to spot an Allparts tailpiece. I know a lot of this info is distributed across various topics, but it would be awesome to have, for example, a set of pictures I could compare a tailpiece to in order to figure out its era.

To continue the learning process, two more pics. I still can't get one screw off to really see under the pickguard.

The rods look pretty good. Most are chewed from this period after being "adjusted" with incorrect tools...(Or should I say, BY incorrect tools..)

Those rods do look good, any time they're not bent back into the wood you know you have something you can work with. Kind of cool how green that black looks with the lighting also, it's an aged warrior. Those rods may have been cut at one time and re-threaded since there isn't any threads sticking out, it won't affect how they work. Congrats on the grover auction, any time you can get them for around 50ish a piece you're doing good, looks like things are falling into place.
