Kenny, Peter Levett has one, and there was one Fireglo 4005/6 made lefty as well.

Pete's is Mapleglo.

Yeah, the very next link I clicked on was that picture Paul W posted of David from Truetone holding the lefty 4005/6. Duh.

I've still never seen one in real life though.

OR a 4005/6 either. Just read something in VG about Petty buying that MG one from Gil Southworth last year.

If I am correct, the MG 4005/6 that Petty ended up with was once on Ebay, I’m guessing 5 or 6 years ago.

I believe that it is the same bass that was offered to me for around $6500.00 before it went on Ebay.

Good thing I walked away from that one eh?

Gil closed up the brick & mortar shop in Bethesda; must have been maybe 5 months ago. He's doing everything online these days with all the inventory in his home like it was back in the early '80s.

He's living in VA these days. I'd imagine that he has everything with him at home. If it's anything like it was back in the Nebraska Ave. days, he's got stuff in every room of that house! I've known him since '81 and used to deal with him all the time until he moved the whole operation to Bethesda. My '61 and '63 Strats came from him as did my '66 Deluxe Reverb; no longer have the guitars but that amp has been with me since '86 and gets work 4x a week.

Back then, Gil was one of the very few vintage dealers anywhere and only one of two in DC with the other being John Sprung. Those were the days!
