Came across some old U2 from '79 and Adam's playing a 4001...
Apologies if this has been posted before...

Thanks for this. U2 was pretty goofy back then. Here's another one that Bono must have put on the "Do Not Play" list at all the music networks!

On a related note...I saw U2 3D last Friday. Its REALLY good. A little less than an hour and a half of recent concert footage from a show (or two or three) in South America. I had my foot propped up on the seat in front of me but then I took it down so I wouldn't accidentally kick Bono in the face!
Probably overall the best concert film I've ever seen. And I'm not the biggest U2 fan. The pacing, the camera angles, the sound...WOW. And NO BONO PREACHING! I think I need to go back and see it again!

Wow, that's a first. I'm sorry, but I also have a conscience and I don't need a sanctimonious rocker to tell me how to "bleed".rickaddict wrote:.... And NO BONO PREACHING!

I can remember them playing to a couple of hundred people at Canterbury College in 1980. A friend of mine tried to drag me up there, but I wasn't having any of it...
They came on leaps and bounds after listening to Simple Minds, who at the time, were far more musically ahead in those early 80's, and who Bono said had that sound they were looking for.

U2 quite often play "I Will Follow" at their gigs. It's on the U2 18 Singles DVD as well. It is an awesome song with a killer riff. Boy was a classic album.
Unfortunately, they went down hill with Rattle and Hum and kept on descending. IMHO.
