My 370/12 VP BBR is here!
And it plays like a dream. The 28 month wait was definitely worth it.

'My Blue Heaven' comes to mind.
WOW! A beautiful marriage of form and function as elegant as any Ruhlman piece.

Really pretty!!! It almost reminds me of some of the Chinery Blue Guitars. I'm always amazed at how the shading on the COY guitars gets better as time goes on. The last few BBRs I've seen were really stunning and Eric Behring seems to have the folks in the paint shop dialed on on AFG as well. It's probably not that surprising, everyone get's better at things the longer they do them...

Ted.....Man, that just "blue" me away, brah. Here's a "toast" to you for a wonderful score. Cool grain patterns on the front and back. Now, go and play that "thang." Best regards.....Goofyfoot
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

It is very interesting that these last BBR are much less shaded than the ones a few years back. My 360-12 is A LOT more dark on the edges and more light in the center.

Re: My 370/12 VP BBR is here!
Thanks for all the kind words. All my previous Ricks I had purchased secondhand, so I was able to see pictures of them and had a good idea of what they would look like when they arrived. Buying new, it's the luck of the draw. What if I didn't care for the shading? It would have been a shame to wait that long for something I didn't care for, but I knew the risks going in. As it turns out, I couldn't be more pleased. Shading-wise, there is more contrast between the dark edges and the light middle than my pictures show -- yet another difficult to capture Rickenbacker finish! But it's the grain where I really got more than I expected. Easily my most charactered Rick. The dark areas at the top of the back's picture show hints of flame, as does the ramp area under the R tailpiece. Oh yeah, it plays and sounds great too.
