I've always loved that clip!

That Vox guitar of Pete's sure was tough, it was still in one piece after smashing in the face of that Super Beatle cab!

Pretty good stuff, with a lot of cool videos, but nothing beats Amazing Journey!

That the incident that is often cited as the point where Pete's hearing started going south thanks to Keith's explosives.

Indeed. His right-side hearing sustained severe injury and permanent hearing loss. You can see he's in partial shock, but you wouldn't know if from the show must go on reaction to it. He also said, and you can see, that a good bit of hair was burned away from the back of his head. If you look at the bass drum that held the explosives you can see the front was blown clean off, the first several inches of it taken with the head and bolts that held it on. Where all that ended up, who knows. But flying metal like that was like a grenade. Moon was out of his mind.

That's also from my favorite era of the Who. I'm not so much into their later arena era material as much as I am into the A Quick One through Sell Out music. To me, this is one of the periods of their career where they produced some of the most fun, gratifying music to listen to. They were also at the top of their game performance wise in their pre-arena phase. I had read in one bio or another that when they went on one of their tours around this time, that they were told that they were playing longer shows than what they thought and that they had to get copies of their records to relearn some of the material to lengthen the shows.
