“Is this Ken S's old bass Dave?”

Yes, two owners ago.

“If it was Ken's, didn’t it have a strange inlay down around the 20th fret?, and the whole piece of the fingerboard was replaced? Hence the "slightly" difference in the grain ?”

Correct…Thank you Dale

“Where do you get a replacement bridge for a three hole tailpiece?”

It came that way, not really sure?

Sergio, thank you for the warm welcome to the 21 club (Graham was not as nice to me).
I do have a bunch of the before photo’s. It was Fireglo (I think), over sprayed white, when Dale got it.

Hi Dave. Yes, the "white" finish definitely was not original. Will you name that beauty after some famous actress like I did mine?... :?:

Wow Dave, it looks stunning. And 21 frets. Very nice buy. I love AutumnGlo. A couple before pics would be enlightning.

Congrats, Dave! I'm glad you landed it. I tried numerous times, but it wasn't meant to be.

Oh, I would like copies of the pix, too!

Weird that the tailpiece is so much further into the body. All of them from this period like that, and I hadn't noticed before?

The good news is, while Dave "claims" he won't buy anything for the remainder of 2008, he is certainly adept at finding them . Hopefully he will turn us on to some quality available pieces...

Its a 21 fret thang, Kenny. The 21 fretters had necks that were about 1/2 inch longer. To keep the scale the same, the tail had to be brought about 1/2 inch closer to the neck.
