Did John Fogerty play a Ric?
Did John Fogerty play a Ric? I saw some stuff on youtube, and it seemed to me he was playing a Rick 330 or 360. Well what do I know, I'm a bassplayer owning just one 4003.....

Yup! He played a short scale 1996 during the Creedence days, and now occasionally plays a 1997.gothbin wrote:Did John Fogerty play a Ric? I saw some stuff on youtube, and it seemed to me he was playing a Rick 330 or 360. Well what do I know, I'm a bassplayer owning just one 4003.....

Yes, he did and still does.
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.

He and his family were at the RIC booth at the NAMM show on Saturday.

Re: Did John Fogerty play a Ric?
I have his Premonition DVD, and he plays a 1997 on a couple of songs... It's very cool!

Who says you can't play lead on a 325 (1996)! Looks good to me!
Just make the time to play guitar!

A look at the pickups. What a great Limited Edition this would make.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Maybe a signature Rick is in the making.doctorwho wrote:He and his family were at the RIC booth at the NAMM show on Saturday.
In the video he appeared to be playing through a Kustom amp.

He replaced the bridge pickup with a Gibson humbucker, but I noticed in the video that the switch is in the middle. Do you suppose he changed the wiring when he changed the pickup, or he left the wiring stock and is using all three pickups? Whatever it is, that's pretty much the exact same tone from the studio recording of Born on the Bayou too! Neat! 325s are so underrated.

Here you go.
Re: Did John Fogerty play a Ric?
The new Guitar Player magazine features him on the cover and article inside. They show him playing every guitar that he's ever played EXCEPT for a Rickenbacker. The article mentions that he played a Rickenbacker in the '60s thru a Hi-Watt but never mentions the model. Kind of sucked.
Re: Did John Fogerty play a Ric?
Looks to me like there's another Rick behind John Fogerty on a stand. Maybe a 360 OS? It's got double body binding.

I don't know about that, he seems to be kinda liking these ... can't say I disagree with him.ken_j wrote: Maybe a signature Rick is in the making.
