The RIC basses you wish for 2004

I played a 4002 at the guitar center in San Francisco about 1978 ... I only remember it looked cool and sounded good ... I tried to trade my 1968 4001 straight up for it ... they offered me a kramer aluminum neck for it ... I left with my '68 ... and that's the one I still have ... I wish I had the bucks to buy that 4002 as well though ...

I'd like to see a reissue of a 4002 with 5 strings and active electronics ... ya I know ... it will never happen ...

I'd be all over a true mid 60's 4001 RI.....a nice Fireglo 4005 RI would be pretty sweet also......

Jeffrey, what is that Sunn, a 200S? I used to use 2000S cabs with JBL D 140's in them. Talk about moving air, one place we played used to call us The Big Wind, haha! You could feel the air hitting you in your stomach about twenty feet in front of them, this was with a Marshall Major head. (which I sold for $150.00 in 1975) try about $1500.00 now.

You know that's my wish my a RIC anniversary model, but I really wouldn't want active electonics unless the bass can also be used in a passive mode.

That Sunn cabinet ('68 or '69, I can't remember which, the date is inside the cabinet) is a Sorado 2-15 with two duct ports, not the rear folded horn type. I have Eminence Delta 15s in it and it sounds awesome with my 650 watt Walter Woods head. One advantage of this cabinet over the 200S cabinet is that it weights probably 20-30 lbs. less and is the came dimensions as the 200S.

The first bass amp I used when I started playing was a 2000S with the 2000S cabinet, very large and heavy! It wasn't mine, a friend had that and a Marshall 1987 with it's 4-12 cabinet, all original, we're talking '71 here. The first bass amp I owned was a Traynor YBA-3 Custom Special with a couple of home built TL type cabinets with EVM15Ls in them; I'd like to have that Traynor back, didn't really appreciate it back then.

BTW, the 4005WB is from February '67 for those interested.

NO BINDING!! …squared body edges, dots, Toasters, 5th knob, cap, just to mention a few.

Finishes: Ultramarineglo, fade to pale Ultra; Same, fade to Maple; Emeraldglo, as before.
