It's not the first thread that 'came to life' months later! 
I have not watched the show, mainly because I am a chemist and the thought of using my knowledge to the detriment of others is repugnant, IMO. I figured that I'd never feel sympathy for the character (although, from what I've seen/read of the series, the character is in a desperate situation), and I would thus not be able to enjoy the series.
