El Dorado 2050
I've only seen pictures of them, but I love the look of these basses. Anyone own one? How do they compare with a 4003 for instance? Just curious. I'd love to own one. As I recall, there was one on eBay a while back but it didn't sell. The seller had a really high opening bid on it.

I have a 2030 ... it is pretty much the same as a 2050 ... it sounds a lot a like a 80's 4003 ... not quite the same ... they have really nice necks ... sort of jazz bass like ... the electronics are supposed to be active ... but the is no power supply and the tone controls are the traditional treble cut pots ... the one pictured below is one of my norotius 4 to 5 string conversions ... the tuners were swapped out and the bridge was replaced and the input jack was replaced as well. The black binding is just vinyl car detailing tape.

Hey William, I just saw a posting on a local classifieds site for a Mapleglo 2030 (or 2050, not sure which model, as it wasn't stated) for $700:
Rick. Bass. Sim. to Frey 2 horn model in natural. Recvd. as gift sev.years ago. Nevrused. Spec. history. Still in box and comes w/hs case.
If that interests you, let me know and I'll e-mail you the link to the ad.

William, you have mail.
I had a 3001 MG for a while, and I really liked it a lot. I traded it in to Mike Parks toward my 730 L Laramie MG. If you look in MP's Sold sections, you'll see a picture of it (it's the July 1976 one).
