Favorite Album Covers

Post by ric330 »

Anybody remember some of those great album covers of the past.
Here's one I always liked even though I really didn't like this particular Album from Jeff Beck:

This might not look the coolest in this small picture, but when you've got the album sleeve in your hands, it just looks incredible (and it's a great album).

I like most of the stuff that was done by Michael Whelan, Derek Riggs, Roger Dean and Frank Frazetta.

This was one of my all time favorites. The backside of the cover (which I couldn't find) is the same picture...post audition. The lamp has exploded, half the pictures have fallen off the wall and the talent agent's hair and glasses look like he just went through an explosion....Rock 'n Roll.

This LP launched a new sound after which the world was not the same.

The Canadian release was a tad different but you get the idea.

From the outset every attempt was made to introduce each member of the group. These first album covers were very basic but effective just the same.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
