I just sold my '77, but am still tempted to throw a bid down on this one. Looks proper and original. The only thing I'd want better pictures of is from the side, the neck angle to body junction and the fretboard. I'd expect this bass to be about a pound heavier than a current 4003.

I may be involved in this auction as well.....I'll have to total how much I've blown on my other hobbies to see what I have available.

Depending on how the auction goes..I should be goin' for it
I just took a look at mine and those tuners are the same. Everything else looks ok to me. I always wanted a mapleglo one (mine's walnut). Good luck on the auction.

Wow! Almost $8,000! But then again, if that's what the market is willing to bear... I better re-evalute the insurance on mine.

Yeah, I guess its time to just admit to myself that I'm destined to die a crazy old hermit...long yellowish grey hair and beard, dirty robe and slippers, long crud-encrusted fingernails, my waste stored in jars on shelves, labeled and dated... and surrounded by hundreds of cool old Rickenbacker basses.

Sorry about that guys. Sometimes I just have no tact!

8)

And...no I don't, Kevin. Not yet anyway. But I do seem to be descending farther and farther into some sort of Ricken-madness.

Do you guys find yourselves thinking about your Ricks on the way to work in the morning, on the way home, or while you're at work?!

What is...happening...to...me?
