Tailpiece Vintage Mod.

Post by lucky »

I don't know if this has been asked before,if it has then i apologise.Is it easy to cut out the gap in the 4000 tailpiece for it to look like the one's on the V63/C64's etc.I am slowly turning my '92 4003 into a V63 style bass like a few other forum members have,and would like to make my tailpiece look more like the V63 type.

If it can be done what tools & measurments for the gap would i need thank you Gentlemen.

Send it to me and I'll have someone in our toolshop cut it out for you. I'll measure mine and duplicate it.
Cost = return shipping

I just noticed you're in England. I don't know if the two-way shipping is worth it to you.

I have done that mod with a dremmel tool ...

but actually what I do to the tailpieces is remove all of the mute superstructure so I can get 5 strings in there ... all of that metal really hinders palm muting as well ... :(
