My Mockingbird

Post by marc61 »

Picked this up off of Ebay months ago. Sent it right to Neal Moser's shop to bring back to original.

It's been cleaned up, and refretted. Now it just needs to be painted and returned to me...

These are all before pictures...

I remember that those were fun basses to play...

Well, the auction price didn't hurt, although the restoration costs might lol

Believe it or not, I've never even seen it. Got it shipped to me, then just forwarded it to the shop.

Even though it appears in the photos to have cracks in the neck, according to Neal it did not. Just needed to be sanded, refretted, and painted. Bass weighs a whopping 8lbs.

Just got the word. It has been shipped back. The costs to restore not nearly as bad as I thought they would be. Looking forward to posting the pics when it arrives.

Not at all. Those old ones have a totally bizarre switch system...like 4 or 5 toggle switches. I DID play a new neck-thru Mockingbird that I LOVED....and then I found out they make a 5-string version!! Alas, I can't find one...I have seen them online. But they are always out of stock.
