Seriously, this is a cool bass for sure just for the early Fender-ness of it. If I won it I'd put a set of flats on it and do the Joe Osborn thing.

I thought that was a reasonable price for something that rare, Fender-wise. Looks like it went to a dealer who will now offer it for the "cheap" price of $50,000 or some such figure!

Thanks so much Mike! I was there for my father's funeral and taking care of all the loose ends took more time than I had hoped. Maybe next trip out we can hook up - I'm running out of people to bury......

Thank you Mike. Very kind. I think my Dad saw it coming and had all his affairs in folders and ready for my sister (executor) to handle. We had already moved him and my Mom (died a year ago January) out of the house (sold) and most all possessions taken care of. We just moved the last of his things out of the assisted living house and divvied up the last of what he kept. No Ricks though.

I was hoping to have time to hook up and see your famous collection. And share a brew or two! As Arnold said, "I'll be back!"
