In praise of the 660/12

Post by brianeharmonjr »

Well, I've officially gotten used to my 660/12 and I'm more than happy I switched from my 330/12VP. Since receiving it, I've put on a new set of Ric strings, adjusted the truss rods and the bridge, and filed down some nut slots, and it is now perfect. I originally got it simply because it was a good deal on a great guitar in a rare color (Desert Gold), and I was a bit concerned about getting used to the winder neck, but I've grown to love everything about it. The finish, the full width inlays, the gold pickguards and TRC, the checkerboard binding, the toasters. I think this is THE 12-string for me. Much thanks to Rickenbacker for making an incredible instrument, and much thanks to drbob for hooking me up with a good deal.

Very nice - the gold guards really seem to work with that finish.

Very nice. Glad you're happy with it.

The 660/12 is a fine 12-string. I think I was blessed when I got mine! A big thanks to Tom Petty for designing such a fine instrument!

That looks great. I haven't seen that guitar in desert tan before. That case doesn't look bad either.
I agree that the gold guard looks especially nice on the 660 in DT.
...went in to buy a 52' Tele and walked out with a 360 Jetglo...
