2008 - The Year of The Rickenbacker

Post by clearblue »

Forget the flu, I must have a bad case of RAS this year. 3 in 2 months and a possible 4th next month Has anyone got a vaccine? Maybe I am getting them while the getting is good. Before all of the retailers catch up on their pricing.

At least it's not (directly) fatal.

There's a temporary vaccine: it's called the need to move. It may or may not work.

Another possible cure: not living in the US. The rarity and price in some countries is also a temporary cure. (depends, traveling might make it worse)

Holy aquisition Batman. 6 in one week. You should be hospitalized without a cell phone and credit card.
(I am currently unattached and my future spouse should have musical interests.)

Craig wins, LOL!

I've had it pretty consistently since 2005:
'05: 350v63 FG
'06: 325c58JG, 1996, 325c58MG, 325c58 MG
'07: 325c64, 4003 DCM
'08: 350/12v63

The 350FG and 4003 are gone, but the rest are right here in the playroom.

This year was supposed to be a recuperation year, but that got to shot to heck when I saw the post about the 350/12 a couple weeks back, and at one point had a 660/12MG on order, but MF canceled the order.

Really think I'll be in remission now for a bit...but the disease is insidious.

Maybe just Gas in general, last 12 months:

1 Fender 63 custom shop telecaster
1 Gibson custom shop Les Paul
1 Gretsch Pro Sparkle jet cloud nine
1 Rickenbacker 660 12 BBR
1 Rickenbacker 340 Amber glow
1 Fender 50s Classic player Stratocaster
1 Fender Thin Skin Jazzmaster.

Now, the reason my gas is worse than any of yours… I can’t play for ****.
I just like shiny things :P

Bill, you own my dream collection! If I had all those, I'd never need anything else!

Well, maybe an ES-175...

Thanks Dan, I really have been very fortunate. It's funny...I sold that 350FG to finance my first 325, which was a good call (only way I could afford it), but I still kinda ache for that guitar...like I said, insidious!

Here they are, minus the 350/12, which I didn't have when I took the photo:

I also seem to recall you owning a 360/12c63. Is one of the symptoms of this disease a selectively faulty memory; as in, "Gee...I can't remember when it was that I last bought a guitar. It seems like AGES!" or "I've never owned one of those before....well, at least not with that serial number."?

Oops! Right you are Johneek! Not really attributable to Ric-itis, though--just plain old senility!'

Scott-thanks!
