Bigsby on a 340

Post by wittyair »

I've been looking for a Montezuma Brown 300 series for some time now. I stumbled upon this beautiful 340 for a pretty good price but was initially horrified about the Bigsby. I'm a purist you see, so I thought it was blasphemy to install a Bigsby on a Rick......go get a Gretsch if you want a Bigsby, right?? Well, I did ( get the Gretsch ) but I couldn't stop thinking about the Rick and posted a few things on the forum which proved extremely helpful. Upshot is......it helped me think outside the box a bit and now I'm absloutely thrilled about my Rick with a Bigsby. Move over Duane Eddy.

Craig, I think the Bigsby looks good on the Monty. Not sure it would on lighter colors, but nice here. Congrats.

Looks great! Nice price too.

I would love to have a bash on your Monty. Set the reverb at about 9 o'clock... mmm.

Yeah, the guitar has been "hacked", but no sense crying over spilt milk.

It would look really good with gold hardware, methinks...

...I thought it was blasphemy to install a Bigsby on a Rick.
Craig, some would disagree...

:D

Seriously, for some reason I think Rics adapt to Bigby's better than many other guitars that you see them on--Teles and LPs for example. The double cutaway Ric bodies look very good with the Bigsby.

Montezuma Brown.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
