well them triangles look like the old ALCOA insignia.

Guess RIC didn't use CNC or plasma cutters back then.

Well, the aluminum baseplate on my 1970 21 fret 4001 has the word 'Harvey' rubber stamped in blue on the underside, followed by three or four stars, not triangles. Does anyone know who 'Harvey' was?
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

Pauls baseplate looks quite crudly cut. I have a 73' bass and its baseplate is far more "factory made" so i guess anything goes really

The plate on mine has KAISER in red on it. Aluminium and is really pooly cut. Where the ends on Jeffs are rounded off these are roughly cut & drilled.

I kind of like this home made look to them, it really shows that these basses were hand made.

Eden, yes it did have. The black one with the ridge around the edge. It did finally fall to pieces so I've had to make a new one.

Yeah, they are kind of weird but they sound as honest as the toaster!
