They can only be played with jim dunlop 2 mm or thicker plectra through 200+ watt tube amplifiers turned to 11.

That's actually a 12.....330/12 AFG....in a playola display case.....kinda does look like a coffin, doesn't it??

Craig, very nice - I'd really like one of those.

The 4003 MID looks quite a different hue to the 340, is there much difference in the age of them? Or is it a trick of the light, MID can shine in many different ways.

You're right, Mark.
They are both new so it's probably just the light and angle.
Also, I think it might be due to the fact that there is less color area on the bass.
