For those not in the know, Carbon/Silicon is the newest band featuring the redoubtable Mick Jones, from the Clash. "Nuff Said.
Go listen to them. The song "The News" is a great starting point.

it really made me miss the clash, like, a LOT!!!

Interesting. They sound like London Calling era Clash.

Doubtless, because Mick Jones was the singer/guitarist (with Joe Strummer, RIP) of the much-missed Clash! :)

I haven't bought their record yet, but I like what I've heard. :D

I kind of like it much better than the Big Audio Dynamite stuff. I like electronic music, but I think with BIG they didn't always choose the most interesting electronic sounds.

Very nice songs! Bits of the Clash, bits of B.A.D., and a still potent anti-establishment vibe.

It's funny, I woke with the Clash song 'Stay Free' on my mind and then I discovered this thread.

Strangely enough Tony James is in this band too. I kind of really like how Sigue Sigue Sputnik sounded, but I just think they were too glam.

I wasn't old enough to get to experience the Clash as it happened (although one of my favorite songs is The Magnificent Seven) but I still find them really exciting. I can't wait to see that live DVD that's coming out next month.

The story was familiar to me too, with buying my first real guitar. I guess it's a common experience among musicians. I feel like people are probably losing that though as we become less and less reliant on local-owned music stores and more focused on internet retailers.
Thanks!
