4001 Ground?

Post by danomar »

Hello-

On the bridge pickup of my 4001, the is a black wire coming from the pickup (along with the regular shielded output) with a screw-mount lug at the end. I am pretty sure it was attached to the control-side pickup adjuster screw but am uncertain whether it was connected to the top of the adjustment spring where it meets the chrome surround or somewhere else.

Anyone know where this little ground wire belongs?
TIA

They can go on either side of the spring and work but most of the time they are between the mounting plate and the spring.

Put it down low inside. It works better that way. As long as it touches the spring and the spring is touching the surround everything should work properly.

Low is best for me - I tend to find my pinky in the cavity from time to time.... but as noted good contact is all that is really required.
