Every well known rock band started out doing shows in the clubs and if they were lucky doing a TV show on a local cable network. Of course when that Rock band goes big, that changes and the arena performances with the miles of amps, extra supporting musicians and the fancy lighting rigs push them further and further away from where they began. But every so often, a band willingly takes a step back and actually performs bare bones and does a live performance in a TV show without all the smuck, a simple backline and proves what made them big in the first place, let's name and show such performances.
Kiss "Heaven's on fire" and "I was made for loving you" performed live on an Argentinian TV show. This is kiss in a fish out of water situation, there are no pyrotechnics, no wall of Marshalls, no stage props, Paul Stanley blows his voice a couple of times and yet, they had the audience eating out of their hands and brought the roof down.
Iron Maiden "Wildest dreams" performed on "Top of the pops" it's a general rule that artists on TOTP do mimed performances but Iron maiden ALWAYS played live, adament that they would play for real or not at all. But evident from this footage is that the guys behind the mixing desk are more used to pop bands and put Bruce Dickingson's vocals higher in the mix than the rest of the band.
