Yup. He won a contest and got up there to sing Neon Knights. I'll review the show in the morning, I'm too tired atm. If anyone wants to hear it I have an mp3 ready to mail out.

Re: My dad got to sing with Queensryche on thurs
Now for the review of the show.
It was a long day of waiting around in NYC, which wasn't the plan since the show was in Jersey. So we arrived in NYC at 9:30 am and missed out bus to Newark due to ours being late. We had to wait and walk around until 4:30 until the guy that was goin with us had time to get us. There was more standing at the show too. Doors opened at 6:30; Queensryche didn't go on until 10. We also had to deal with a Don Dokken acoustic set before the real show started.
When the band came on they looked like they were having fun. Geoff Tate was bouncing all around and dancing, which I never see him do. He reminded me of his old self in live vids I've seen of him from the 80's and 90's. He skipped a few high notes here and there, but nothing I haven't heard him skip before anyway. Ed "bass" Jackson was really sick, but handled himself quite well the entire night. Mike Stone (lead guitar) looked... well stoned, but he seemed to snap out of it by the end of the show. Michael Wilton (other lead guitar) was into it. Scott Rockenfield (drums) was LOUD!!! Thumping my chest loud. I was right infront of Stone the entire night, front row, stage left.
The setlist had quite a few rarities. A song that hasn't been played live since '86 (but Tate did it at a solo show in 01), a song that hasn't been played in the album arrangement ever, a song that has been requested forever and only played at a handful of shows in 04 played every night of the tour. Just a wonderful setlist overall. Also, since this is a tour for their latest record, a covers album, they played a few songs that wern't theirs. But they all sounded great. For anyone used to their songs here's the set list and the album the song came from. One song was on Stone's list and it was skipped.
01. Burning Man (Q2K)
02. NM 156 (The Warning)
03. Screaming In Digital (Rage For Order)
04. Welcome To The Machine (Take Cover)
05. I'm American (Operation: Mindcrime II)
06. Hostage (Operation: Mindcrime II)
07. Bridge (Promised Land)
08. The Killing Words (Rage For Order)
09. Another Rainy Night (Without You) (Empire)
10. Gonna Get Close To You (Rage For Order)
11. Walk In The Shadows (Rage For Order) (Not played due to Tate being sick)
12. The Real World (Promised Land B-side)
13. Red Rain (Take Cover)
14. Anybody Listening? (Empire)
15. Jet City Woman (Empire)
16. Eyes Of A Stranger (Operation: Mindcrime)
17. Neon Knights (Take Cover) (With my dad!)
18. Empire (Empire, duhhh)
19. Someone Else (Promised Land)
Excellent show. Someone Else was a big suprise. It wasn't played all tour and it replaced Take Hold Of The Flame (Which I was hoping for) due to Tate being sick. It was last played live by the band in 95 (although Tate did it on his solo tour in 01).
The meet and greet was amazing. Scott Rock ran tough real quick and we missed him. Ed Jackson was too sing to attend. but the other three.. man. I wasn't all start struck at the time either, which suprised me. Tate's not that tall, maybe 5'9" to my 5'7". He was in press confrence mode. Wasn't too into everything. he was trying to be nice but the guy standing there with him kept moving him along to make sure he talked to everyone. I said thank you for Someone Else and told him about the solo show I have. He wants the bootleg now! Wooot! Mike Stone was the coolest guy there, by far. He was just one of the guys. When we were there were 4 people left. 3 fans and Stone. He was a great guy to talk to, he even was talking to me from the stage when my dad was up. I was shouting "That's my dad!" and he answered back "Wow! He's good!" Even after my dad made fun of him for being on one of Peter Criss' albums he was still cool to us. Michael Wilton was great to us. We gave him some bootlegs for backstage passes a coupel months ago, and then we won these passes from the contest but he was still great. I got my pass signed and as soon as I find my USB cable I'll post the pics we took back with the band.

Great review. I met those guys back on the Mindcrime tour and they were all very cool. They blew Metallica away that night...made 'em look like amateurs.

Go to John Peace. That'd be him. He says he was better during the auditions (Which they postsed as well) but I think that's because he could hear himself.

Re: My dad got to sing with Queensryche on thurs
I met Queensryche at an in-store signing when The Warning came out. Very cool guys, they hooked me up with passes to see them at Harpo's that night. Then when I went backstage, great hang.
They gave me passes to see them the next night at Joe Louis Arena, opening for KISS. THAT DID NOT SUCK. They are the reason I got to meet KISS....and for that I will be eternally grateful to those guys. (Ace and Peter were gone, but....hey, Eric Carr was a great guy!)
