You'd think that they would know better.

Looks like a shrunken body with full-scale horns...a bit odd and tiny at the bottom...and, yeah, there is some gro§e Unwissenheit operating here. Or perhaps gro§e Arroganz?

Re: Sandberg Rick body shape
Quite Teutonic, or should I say that it looks like a RIC that's been Teutonicized?! Stocky, like one of the Valkyrie.

Re: Sandberg Rick body shape
Look at the headstock... it's got the Rath "2 up, 3 down" tuner arrangement.
Well, the original 4000 bass was designed by Roger Rossmeisl...paologregorio wrote:Quite Teutonic, or should I say that it looks like a RIC that's been Teutonicized?!

Apart from the nice tobacco burst I think its badly proportioned and lacks the grace of the original. I had heard that Sandberg made good quality instruments though.

We're not sure, actually. There is some thought that Paul Barth and "some travelling musician from Texas" thunk it up. I'm still waiting for definitive information.

A five string Ric ... if only Rickenbacker would make such a bass ...
It is wide enough for finger style and the pickups will cover all 5 strings ...

I'd say it's time for Wotan to lower the boom on these copies.
