Re: LOTS OF PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION...
Well, you all can see the amount of attention and detailed care that goes into each one of these, as well as my refins and restos...I take these in the order that they come in; anything else would be unfair to everybody on the list whose intruments are in the store room.
For those who asked what was up next, just read up a bit in the thread; no clues--just straight up.

Paul,
Just going over the photo series for this creation and I love those vintage red dot markers on the neck's binding. Wonder why other makers don't seem to use colour (sorry color States-People) dots. Hmmm so if i'm correct in red markers being a rarity, where on earth do you get such small diameter rod from? Custom turned down from....plastic...material?
That sort of attention to fine detail design aspects makes your Acoustic Ric's such treasure.

That is the most beautiful acoustic guitar I've ever seen!
Re: LOTS OF PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION...
That sure is a beauty PW
Re: LOTS OF PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION...
Another resplendent creation, in what has become a long line of magnifcent craftmanship.

Simon, I'm told the material is made in Japan...my source is in the USA, though.37012player wrote:Paul,

Ummmm, Gary, you make it sound like it's as good as done! Really, I don't always get what I want.... But sometimes it seems like it!doctorwho wrote:Tune in later ...melibreits wrote:BEAUTIFUL.... Some day, when my ship comes in, I'm gonna order one of those in a 12-string version.....
But if you want to see it happen, I can direct you to a site where you can buy lots and LOTS of ancient coins to fund my addiction!
Re: LOTS OF PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION...
Then you haven't seen Paul's Jazzbo. Although both models give each other a run for their money. I saw the Jazzbo in person and I have only seen pictures of the other so I may not be comparing fairly.fireglo wrote:That is the most beautiful acoustic guitar I've ever seen!

Re: LOTS OF PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION...
Interesting aside...I went around and around on color for the Jazzbo, the entire time I was building it (about 13 months elapsed, but about 10 months in construction, part time). Up until about three hours before I actually got into the paint color mixing, it was going to be a blue/violet burst similar to Alisha's. The only other candidate was a deep FG, as you can see on its back and sides. I decided that the deep FG was the more traditional choice, and I would go with it. The blue/violet was simply too "out there" for my one shot at this body.
As I was mixing the four colors for the deep FG burst, it occurred to me that I was waffling again, because I really didn't want to cover up even one square inch of the exquisite and perfect spruce of the top. So I made the decision to leave the top natural, with a slight amber tint overall, and do the sides and back in the deep FG.
Here's a link to the Jazzbo's photos on photobucket, if anyone hasn't seen it yet:

OK....direct hit.....monkey wrench in the spokes.
That is exquisite, Paul!
I've got some thinking to do over the next several months!

See what I mean?
Re: LOTS OF PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION...
That Jazzbo is beautiful too! However, for me, the blue is prettier.
